Have you been thinking about getting a nice business portrait done? Here is our advice on what to wear for a business portrait. But first, let me say that if you want a great business portrait for Linkedin, your business cards, and many other uses, it pays to get it done professionally. The key is finding someone who knows lighting and how to bring out the best in people. It's also helpful if that person has the equipment to do it well! If you are in the Washington, DC area (northern Virginia), that would be us (Randy & Susan) at I Do Photography Inc. We actually come to your place of business (for 5 or more people) and set up our studio, so you only have to walk a short distance from your desk!
But once in a blue moon (or nearby asteroid) we do business portraits at our location. That is convenient for those who are in small offices or are self employed. Check out our ad below, then skp on down to the "What to wear" advice.
And now for the advice on what to wear.
- Wear darker, jewel tones on the top so your face will look the best in the portrait. We advise staying away from white (yes, guys, ditch the white shirt) because it is the first thing that people focus on in the photo and we want them to see your face!
- Create a classic yet trendy look by accessorizing with scarves, longer necklaces and, of course, neck ties.
- 2013 colors: Grayed Jade, African Violet, Dusk Blue and Poppy Red. Check out this site for more colors.
We love to see folks polishing their business presence. Would you like to be one of them?
