A WEDDING FOR A SPECIAL FRIEND'S DAUGHTER:
I just want to say, that this really is a post about a wedding. It may not sound like it at the beginning so keep reading! There are people that come into our lives that unexpectedly change our hearts. Lee Vaughn is one of them. We first met Lee when he worked at Jill’s House, a place of respite for children with special needs, that we support with our photography. He was so passionate about the children and people in general that you had to love him.
Lee then transferred to leading the Men’s ministry at McLean Bible Church where he applied his love for people and helping them make a difference in the world. Along the way, Lee developed a rare cancer that totally rearranged his family and life. The updates were not good, the journey was long (and continues) but Lee’s spirit and faith prevailed.
So out of the blue he calls us (here’s the wedding part). “Hey our daughter Emily is getting married and we really want you to photograph the wedding at McLean Presbyterian Church. Can you do it?”. Well we have never said no to Lee and weren’t about to start. We were blessed to participate in Emily and Cameron’s beautiful wedding. Can I just say that the love and compassion and faith that we saw that day were so palpable that no one could miss it!
Emily’s sweet smile and contagious laugh, Cameron’s love for Emily, Mom Ellen’s compassion and proud papa Lee all came together to create an amazing celebration not to be forgotten. Randy and I (of IDoPhoto.com) were so blessed to be a part of it all.
SAY I LOVE YOU OFTEN:
None of us know how long we will have someone in our lives. Whether it is because of relocation, illness, death or just parting of ways. So let me encourage you to make sure that those you love know that you love them. The people involved in this wedding demonstrated that in a tangible way.
Emily and Cameron - you are so blessed to be surrounded by family and friends and acquaintances that are starting you out in marriage with a whole lot of love! Best wishes on your journey.
