What a wonderful day to spend doing what we love - photography! And doing it for a great cause - Jill’s House. We have photographed this event since its inception. Today, we reconnected with long time friends and met new ones. Couldn’t ask for more.
Our morning started with hearing from a Jill’s House dad, from Joel Dillon, president of Jill’s House and a prayer by former Virginia Governor McDonnell. International Country Club in Fairfax, VA was a wonderful host for this event. Jill’s House staff and volunteers made it all run so smoothly. Oh and the deer on the course were very friendly.
Before the day began, over $201K was raised to provide short term, overnight respite care for families. rising children with intellectual disabilities in the DC metro area. What a gift to these families as they care for their special children.
A highlight for Randy: His dad was a golfer and has actual wooden golf clubs. These clubs have been hidden in the garage for years. Randy donated them to the Silent Auction today to help raise funds. One golfer placed a very generous bid just a few minutes into registration. We are so glad to gift these clubs to a good cause and to see someone enjoy them!
Please keep Jill’s House in mind for contributions and most of in your prayers. I always think of one of my favorite verses in connection with Jill’s House: Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Jesus promises this and God is the one who empowers the folks that care for these children. What a gift!
