I Do Photography was one of the sponsors of the Bluebell Music Festival at The Winery at Bull Run on Saturday. We arrived around 9am under very cloudy skies, which turned to rainy skies. The day certainly wouldn't go as planned, would it? Well, over a thousand people came out and enjoyed a day of music (from jazz to rock), wine, great food and a lot of fun and conversations with old friends and new ones. Rain? Nobody seemed to care, which was great, since this was all to benefit several charities:
- NPLB-Operation Second Chance, a group serving our wounded, injured and ill combat veterans;
- Final Salute Inc., a group working to provide homeless women veterans with salfe and suitable housing;
- The Manassas Battlefield Trust, a valued partner of the National Park Service that supports the protection and preservation of Manassas National Battlefield Park through education, partnerships and philanthropy.
So, hats off (we actually kept hats on during the rain!) to all who helped out. Eddie Fam and his team from Impact Marketing & Events, who planned and ran the event, Purple Onion Catering, who provided fantastic hor d'oeuvres for the VIP lounge. The two food vendors, Amphora Catering and Bad to the Bone Smokehouse had very tasty food. And, of course, thanks to Jon Hickox, the owner of The Winery at Bull Run, without whom none of this would have taken place!
It was a music festival, of course, and the music was first rate. Thanks to all the bands who sounded great in less than perfect conditions.
Sonyx, Willem Dicke, Andrea Pais, Livin the Dream and The Dreamscapes Project.
Enjoy some more photos from the day!
The Civil War reenactors were there all day long doing demonstrations.
